Since the cancellation of both GoGo festival and LadyRock it is the best getting-an-ice-cream-on-a-hot-day amazingness of Lfest that will make sure that the ladies get their festival. The lesbian festival LFest will still be hitting Shrewsbury this July. So if you were crying under your duvet and having to wear waterproof mascara about the fact you wouldn’t be able to see the lineup at Manchester or London , check out the new-sexy-up-and-coming talented ladies that will be performing here.

Voted  by G3 readers as best Festival Scottish singer Horse will take main stage along side cool and collected band Grey Matter and the girl all the ladies can’t stop talking about Jill Jackson on her GetAway Tour. Head Hearts, Laura Catlow, Lucy Spraggon and Elle Robertson, there’s just so many! It’s an all-girl all-fun all-hot succession of fabulous acts that will impress whatever type of music you like.And even if you don’t, then show off your own skills by jamming at the Fire Pit (that sounds more dirty than it is.).

If you’re more into the literature side of it then tipping the velvet’s finest author Sarah Waters will be there onstage on the Saturday. (Followed by the Tipping the Velvet Masked Ball in her honour if you please). Also following her new release VG Lee will be reading extracts from her book Always you, Edina and Stella Duffy will open the Friday night. There will also be an open mic night for all you budding writers.

And that’s not all you can join in with. There are dozens of workshops from I-need-to-get-rid-of-this-hangover-and-feel-fresh-now yoga to I’m-adventurous-and-I-know-it Climbing. If you fancy your chances at getting lucky there is also speed dating, but ladies, you’re going to be in an all lesbian festival, chances are, if you want to, you’ll be getting it on.

All the female fun and frolics start on Friday the thirteenth of July. Unlucky for some but not if you’re going to this Festival. So to see the music plus the L Project are coming together for a special performance of ‘It Does Get Better’, to raise awareness of homophobic bullying, comedy including the Laughing Cows and so many other bits and bobs that you can check out on the website. Weekend camping tickets are £95 for 69 hours (Now that IS dirty) at the West Mid Showground, with discounts for group bookings.
