Chick Habit.

Ah my favourite night at Candy bar, and not just because the DJs are hot. If you’ve never been to Chick Habit, then one, what are you doing with your life? And two, you’re missing out on starting the weekend early with some amaze music and a sexy atmosphere. And three, you’ve probably never seen so many fit indie girls in your life. Hash tag just saying.

The music is different to other nights which gives you a break from the Justin Bieber lesbian madness and cyberman type dancing. There’s everything from Lady Hawk to smash mouth and Florence to EMF (If you don’t know the last one they sing the Coyote ugly, You’re unbelievable ohhhhhhh) courtesy of DJs Amy B and Cece Wyldeck.

Aswell as the DJs almost every week they have bands or singers performing on the stage downstairs. My favourites over the last few weeks being AMiTY and Harrison. It’s so good watching the intense fans standing really close to the stage, mouthing all the words of their songs. Or the more drunk ones humming into their whipped cream shots. There’s also guest DJs like JD Sampson who played an awesome set a few weeks back, and since it was my birthday on that night, I can say that JD Sampson played on my birthday which makes me happy.

It’s a pound in and drinks are cheap. For a fiver, you might as well just order a double vodka, it would be silly not to. The atmosphere is friendly and I’ve found that upstairs people chat to each other a lot more than other nights. So if you’re going to be like me popping in for one drink on your way home from work you might find yourself dancing at three am to the Arctic Monkeys after drinking more tequila then you can handle and thinking, that yes, you bet you do look fucking good on the dance floor.

Downstairs in Candy if you’ve never been (and again, sort your life out) has mirrors covering the walls which is hilarious because some people genuinely dance with their own reflection. And you can go over to approach a hot girl only to realize that she is in fact on the other side of the room.  This is definitely one of my favourite nights to go out and it’s worth the hangover in work the next day because you can dance, drink, sing, shout and shot until your heart’s content. Or until three anyway.
