Flirty & Fervent Days

There’s not just Valentines….

It’s like the world goes into crazy love overdrive when it comes to this day. Couples will do their emotional foreplay type stuff where chocolates come in a massive box and you leave nine tenths of them and flowers come as a single rose and you’re not sure where to put it. And there are people fighting for restaurant reservations and a decent place to shag. But there are so many other delightful days in the year that you can celebrate.

For starters you have Wife Appreciation day on the 22nd of June. A day that you could take out your lovely lady to a lovely restaurant and be all lovely together without the rest of the world doing the same thing. You can appreciate her all day and then appreciate her all night.  If you haven’t quite made it down the aisle there’s Girlfriends appreciation day on the first of August.

For the lesbians, the 8th of March is National Womens day. There’s no better day to celebrate being a woman, being a gay woman and being a gay woman who has another gay woman to be in love with. Also for the lesbians is the 4th of May, Hug a Cat day, because, well you know.

My favourite I think is Cliché Day on the third of November. A day to do all the idyllic cliché things with your girl and feel like you’re in some sort of romcom. Breakfast in bed, a walk hand in hand through the park, chocolate gifts, flowers, a quicky in a bustop. All the British romantic things. If it’s just the kissing you want then the 16th of March is Lips Appreciation day. Nothing better than appreciating your lady’s lips again and again.

For random ones try the 14th of April. It’s National Look up at the Sky day which I thought was glorious because you could just take the day off and lie and do nothing with your girl. Just simply look at the sky and appreciate its beauty. As long as it’s not completely pouring it down. A skylight could be very useful. The 13th of March is Smart and Sexy day. I really hope Clintons do a card for this that sings and dances and comes with a glittery badge.

National Chocolate Day falls on the 28th of October so you could spend your time together watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or lesbian favourite Better than Chocolate. You could also go crazy and whack out the chocolate coated raisins and Wagon wheels. The fourth of December is Cookie day if you prefer the biscuits. There aren’t as many sexy films though and it’s just not as nice to spread biscuit paint on each other.

If you’re looking for a more passionate day then you could choose the 17th of November which is the Day of Play, or the tenth of March; National use your batteries day. Make of that what you will.

  2. Instead of biscuit paint I’d recommend Speculoos caramelised biscuit spread; perfect on pancakes or…well, y’know. Guaranteed deliciousness! Also March is apparently National Bed Month, which I think is supposed to be about getting quality sleepy time but I like to think of as a challenge to do the opposite for the entire 31 nights.
